OQSO History:

Beginning in 1985, organizational meetings were held in Oklahoma City, Ponca City, and Claremore to establish a guild for quilters across the state of Oklahoma.  On March 18, 1986, the first general meeting of the now Oklahoma Quilters'  State Organization was held in Oklahoma City.  One hundred twenty-five attended and over fifty quilts were displayed.

In September of '86 one hundred sixty-three quilters gathered at the Fin and Feather Resort in Gore, Oklahoma for a Fall retreat.  The three-day event proved a great success and will be offered annually to OQSO members.  Each and every retreat has proved to be further sucessful, with increasing participation.

By June, 1987, Oklahoma Quilters had been granted tax exempt status and built its membership roll to over 350 members.  Any individual interested in the art of quilting is eligible for membership.  We invite you to join us.

To become a member, go to Registration, complete the membership form and mail it in with your dues.

To find out more about our retreats, go to Retreat Information to obtain information on our upcoming retreat and to see about past retreats.  There are classes for every skill level.
