Fall Retreat 2010 Class Photos

Below are photos of the classes that will be offered at the Fall Retreat at Lake Murray State Park and Lodge, Adrmore, OK.

Fran Snay Fran Snay has been teaching the art of quilting
since 1989 to a wide range of students; from
beginners to advanced quilters. She spends
much of her time encouraging new quilters, and
teaching them "color combinations" to more
effectively present their quilt creations as a work
of art.
Fran also served on the Teaching Faculty for the
2003 International Festival in Houston. Her
quilts have won numerous Blue Ribbon awards
over the years, and her quilts have been featured
in most of the national quilt magazines over the
past four years, including the June 2005 issue of
Quilters Newsletter Magazine.

Stars On A String
taught by: Fran Snay
- New twist on the old fashioned traditional string pattern. The string quilt is a wonderful way to express your love for fabrics and color and what a good way to use up fabric scraps that you just couldn't part with. You have two design choices, they are in the same pattern.

Art Quilt - The Fun and Easy Way

Giant Dahlia
taught by: Pat Wilson
- Shh.. don't tell the secret, but this is so much easier to put together than it looks! It is pieced in strips, not rounds as the picture looks. Marti  Michell's template set makes this a breeze to piece. So many possibilities, depending on fabric choices. The class sample was pieced repeating the background fabric in the flower. Or choose coordinating fabrics, going from light to dark. All will look stunning and people will be impressed at your abilities!

- Want to take home a finished project? Come join me and I’ll try to make your dreams come true. It can be a wall quilt, chair throw or table topper measuring 52” square. Easy piecing and enjoyable for all levels of quilters. I used Christmas colors but any contrasting fabrics will work.

Mystery Class
taught by: Sharon Gunkle
 - Your quilt sure won't look as simple as it is to construct. Patch sizes will determine quilt size--51" square, 64" square, or 71.5" square. Quilt size can be increased with additional blocks on all sizes. My quilt won't have a separate outer border. If you'd like a miniature quilt, I'll be happy to calculate appropriate patch sizes. See you after the Saturday night meeting in the fall!
